Oak Canyon Nature Center is a very unique location, tucked away in Anaheim Hills, it does not look like anything in Southern California. With curving and bending oak trees feels like you have stepped into a movie like jurassic park. At the same time that it has these stunning trees, it also has cactus and succulents. As a photographer Oak Canyon nature center is a wonderful location for engagement photos because even when it is busy there it still feels like you have the place to yourself.

Justina and Jonathan are getting married this spring at Coyote Hills and will have a stunning wedding day. While I was working with this couple at Oak Canyon I quickly saw their love for each other is amazing.

How they met: When I first met Jonathan, I was initially confused why he was interested in me or if it was real. When we first started talking, we both thought we were dreaming and that it seems impossible to meet someone so alike to one another. We also thought we were stalking each other since we had so much in common (e.g family background, food we liked, thought process, etc. )

What they find cute about each other is Jonathan loves Justina’s dorkiness. Justina loves when Jonathan’s personality switches to his more cute/affectionate side. The side that no one ever sees.

Their first date: Jonathan picked me up from work and we went to downtown Fullerton. I paid for dinner and Jonathan paid for drinks. We then walked around downtown Fullerton with coffee and just talked about ourselves for the remaining time of the date. We were both nervous.

The proposal story:
Jonathan initially told me he was going to go get food with his friends in Newport Beach (I worked in this area at the time) and I immediately told him “have fun!” I thought he was just letting me know he won’t see me that day. Instead, he said he wanted me to go too, but I wanted him to have his boys night and I can go home and relax. I reluctantly agreed to get food with his friends.

The day of, he picked me up from work and said we had some extra time to kill. He drove me up to the hills in Newport Beach, which was private property. I told him we shouldn’t be up here and I didn’t want to get in trouble, but he still drove up to a scenic point.

We walked around the area and we were just talking and enjoying the view where he popped the question. Funny thing, driving up the hill, Jonathan stalled his car. The three years I’ve been with him, he has never stalled his car, but he was nervous apparently. He also hid the ring in between his sock and jeans so he can hide it from me. When it was time to propose he “pretended” to tie his shoe.
