Redwood engagement sessions are something very unique to Southern California. Redwood trees do not thrive in the environment in our area, however at Carbon Canyon regional park you can find a perfect grove. These trees grow in perfect splendor. Coming out of nowhere it seems they tower over those of us below. When Kelly and Martin asked to take their engagement photos there I was so excited. I love capturing couples among these young towering trees. Right now they are allowing the trees to go to seed and have young redwoods growing all around the base of the trunk.
Kelly and Martin are such a sweet couple and after a couple of minutes relaxed into their photo session. These two are in so much love with one another it is a joy to be their photographer. Their wedding is taking place this summer at my favorite venue Coyote Hills golf course. Redwood engagement session was perfect for this wonderful couple as they love been surround by nature and trees.
Written by the couple:
Their first date! We used to do ceviche and playing basketball ‘friend’ dates for a few weeks because neither of us would admit we liked each other. We then decided to go to Knott’s Berry Farm since Martin had never rode a roller coaster and was scared. He rode his first one and was so excited we kissed after, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Their proposal story! We had just bought a house and wanted to do a house warming. I thought it could be possible that he would propose then but things kept happening making me think that it wouldn’t occur. Then he called me up in front of everyone tricking me into thinking his mom wanted us to thank everyone. He went on this long speech about me and then finally popped the question, I sobbed like a baby. It was very sweet that it was in front of all our friends and family.
